All Guts or No Glory




Imagine auditioning for American Idol or any other job and you decide to perform or teach something that one of the judges or teachers created.  Do you have the guts to perform it in your own way and interpretation?  How much have you practiced the lyrics, guitar parts, singing into a mic or giving instructions, demonstrating, delivering the hook, etc...?  There is a direct correlation of teacher candidate (TC) performance and planning/practice.  The more you think and obsess about what you will teach, and practice it out loud.... the more likely you will be to improve upon it before you actually have to teach.

I know you can find Eminem song "Lose Yourself" but I think it is appropriate to compare his lyrics to the performance you must do each and every time you go to teach.  Part anxiousness, confidence, uncertainty, hope....that is teaching to me.  If you don't get excited to teach and you're not constantly thinking about how to get better, do better and be better - then I will personally help you find your TRUE path.
